Northern Colorado, 11/27/23 — The Longmont Area Visitor’s Association, or Visit Longmont, was awarded a $39,996 grant on behalf of a regional collaboration among Northern Colorado destination marketing organizations (DMOs). The grant funds will support promotion of regional winter activities available to visitors in Boulder, Estes Park, Fort Collins, Greeley, Loveland, and Longmont.

This regional partnership among Northern Colorado destinations focuses on attracting potential visitors to the area who are interested in outdoor recreation and community special events.

"The Northern Colorado region offers visitors the charms of our distinctive communities that fall outside the more commonly known winter ski-related destinations in Colorado. This opportunity will expand our region’s tourism economies while addressing sustainability in spreading visitation more evenly throughout the year and throughout the state,” said Charlene Hoffman, Visit Boulder’s CEO. The grant funds will help raise awareness about outdoor winter adventure experiences available to travelers in Northern Colorado.

The grant program awards funding to eligible applicants for projects promoting the state as a tourism destination, supporting CTO’s mission to “empower the tourism industry by inspiring the world to explore Colorado responsibly and respectfully”. The CTO’s Marketing Matching Grant Program awards grants up to $40,000 and applicants must demonstrate a 2:1 match.

“By encouraging travelers to explore our region’s outdoor assets as well as the hundreds of specialty and locally owned shops and services, together we are supporting small business owners and adding to the economic strength of Colorado’s tourism economy,” Sarah Leonard, CEO of Visit Longmont added.
