Kick off your first day in Longmont with a bright and flavorful breakfast at Tangerine, located on Main Street downtown. Their Mediterranean-inspired brunch menu puts a fresh spin on morning favorites, with plenty of gluten-free and vegetarian options to fuel your day. Once you’re full, make your way to McIntosh Lake, where 3.5 miles of mellow trails wrap around a scenic reservoir framed by Longs Peak. It’s a great spot to stretch your legs, paddle out on a kayak (rentals available at Angle’s downtown), or catch a glimpse of local wildlife like bald eagles and pelicans.

When it’s time for lunch, head back downtown to experience some of Longmont’s excellent pizza. Take your pick from three pizza joints within blocks of each other - Antonios Real New York Pizza, Rosalee’s Pizzeria, and Urban Field Pizza & Market. After lunch, check out the new Winners Circle for arcade games, mini golf, and family-friendly indoor play. If you’re craving a slower pace, grab a coffee at Red Frog Coffee and take a peaceful stroll through a nearby park or neighborhood.

As the sun starts to dip, grab dinner on the patio at Pumphouse Brewery. Since 1996, they’ve been serving up microbrews and comfort food with something for every palate. End your evening at Quarter’s Bar + Arcade, where retro games and self-pour taps bring out the kid—and craft beer lover—in everyone. When you’re ready to turn in, Longmont has various hotel options to match your style and budget.

Day 2:
Back to Top of ListMarket Mornings, Farm Fun & Flavorful Farewells
On day two, wake up early and head to the Boulder County Fairgrounds for the Longmont Farmers Market, which runs Saturdays from April to November. It’s the longest-running market in Colorado and offers everything from local produce and flowers to baked goods, live music, and artisan crafts. Whether you’re gathering ingredients for a picnic or shopping for souvenirs, there’s something here for every kind of traveler.

After the market, pack up your crew and head to Sunflower Farm (tickets required) in southeast Longmont. This 50-acre space is where kids can climb, swing, zipline, and feed animals while grown-ups relax in hammocks under giant cottonwoods. It’s unplugged, authentic fun that offers the breathing room you rarely find elsewhere. For less kid-focused farm fun, take a tour of Jack’s Solar Garden, the premier agrivoltaic research site in the nation.

Come afternoon, enjoy a casual yet elevated lunch at Teocalli Cocina, where locally sourced ingredients shine in traditional Mexican dishes. You’ll find Longmont’s commitment to fresh, local food at spots like this every season. Then, burn off some calories and drive just a few minutes to Union Reservoir. This glacial lake is a go-to for paddleboarding, sailing, or relaxing by the dog-friendly beach.

Swing by either Sweet Cow or Scrumptious, two local scoop shops known for inventive flavors and nostalgic charm. If you’re in the mood for a laid-back evening, visit one (or a few) of Longmont’s many patios at spots like Dry Land Distillers, Left Hand Brewing, Wibby Brewing, or Bootstrap Brewing, many of which often feature live music. Each offers a different vibe, but all reflect Longmont’s welcoming spirit and local flavor.
