RMNP: Peak Routes

Longmont serves as the ultimate basecamp for adventure, providing the perfect "place with space" to gear up before heading into the wild. The drive from Longmont to Rocky Mountain National Park is an experience in itself, offering a few distinct ways to reach the park. The faster route via US-36 delivers a direct journey through the dramatic North St. Vrain Canyon, making it the quickest route to the park. Alternatively, CO-7 winds past the eastern edge of the park, past the iconic Chapel on the Rock, and showcasing unparalleled views of Longs Peak and Mount Meeker just before Lily Lake. Both paths offer a vibrant transition from our bustling downtown to the serene mountain peaks.
