Longmont, CO, September 18, 2024—Visit Longmont, the community's destination marketing and management (DMMO) organization, announces the reveal of its new mascot: Monty the Longmonster.

Monty the Longmonster was born out of creative ideas directly from Longmont residents,” said Visit Longmont CEO Sarah Leonard. “Almost a year ago, we invited the community to help us create and vote on a fun, new mascot. Following an online and community-wide vote, Monty was the clear favorite.”

To celebrate the Monty reveal, Visit Longmont is collaborating with Longmont breweries the week of October 20-26, 2024, with various daily beer releases. Brewery visitors and guests who purchase a special Monty brew will receive a commemorative pint glass featuring Monty, while supplies last.

“Everything about Monty is rooted in the community, from a beginning idea to the final graphic, designed by Jean Ditslar, co-owner of 300 Suns Brewing,” said Leonard. “Jean is a successful business owner in Longmont and a wonderful graphic artist.”

Visit Longmont will also have Monty the Longmonster stickers and coloring sketches available for download or at the visitor center at 320 Main Street in downtown Longmont. A mascot costume is in final production and will be used for future community and special events.
