Almost a year ago, we invited the Longmont community to help us create a fun new mascot for Visit Longmont, and the response was incredible! We received over 70 creative ideas. After careful consideration, we narrowed it down to the top three, and you voted. The clear winner? Monty the Longmonster!
Monty embodies everything we love about Longmont—he’s welcoming, fun, vibrant, and delightfully quirky. Monty is here to spread joy and laughter throughout our town because don’t we all need a bit of humor? As one resident describes him: Monty is “green, with shaggy fur, fins, and big, silly pointy teeth—a little bit googly.” We believe there's a bit (or a lot!) of Longmonster in all of us, and we’re thrilled to introduce Monty to you!
Be sure to watch for Monty during the week of October 20-26 by visiting a Longmont brewery (or a few!). Local brewers will celebrate Monty with special releases each day—because when it comes to Longmonsters, all beer styles are welcome! And with the purchase of a special Monty brew, you’ll receive a commemorative pint glass featuring Monty (while supplies last).
