Longmont Symphony Orchestra’s 2018-19 Season

The Longmont Symphony Orchestra (LSO) has announced its 2018‐19 season, entitled “Musical Journeys.” It is the 52nd season for the orchestra, and the organization’s second season with Elliot Moore as music director.
For the 2018‐19 season, the LSO will present six concerts at Vance Brand Civic Auditorium, a July 4th concert at Thompson Park, a holiday candlelight concert, two Nutcracker performances with the Boulder Ballet, two chamber orchestra concerts at the Longmont Museum’s Stewart Auditorium and a pair of children’s concerts for all St. Vrain Valley School District 5th graders.

“For the connecting thread of the LSO’s 2018‐19 season, we’ve chosen ‘Musical Journeys.’ Concert highlights include a Juilliard‐trained pianist from Longmont’s sister city of Chino, Japan; French music from Ravel and Debussy; a ‘Sounds of America’ concert with music by Libby Larsen, Samuel Barber and Aaron Copland; carols from around the world for our holiday concert; and a space‐themed pops concert,” said Music Director Elliot Moore. “We’ll also continue our cycle of Beethoven Symphonies at the Longmont Museum, and our popular family programming with The Nutcracker Ballet in December and the world premiere of ‘A Child’s Book of Animals’ for our family concert in January.”

Six‐concert subscription packages are currently on sale (call 303‐772‐5796). Box Office hours are 10 a.m.‐4 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays; 9 a.m.‐3 p.m. on Fridays; and closed on Wednesdays. Series package buyers receive 20% off single ticket prices ($20 per ticket). Single tickets for Main Series concerts are $25 for adults, $22 for seniors and active military, $5 for students age 12‐18 ($10 for the pops concert), and free for ages 11 and under. Single tickets go on sale on Monday, Aug. 27 via phone and online at longmontsymphony.org.
