Experience the mystery and magic of millions of sparkling lights and the sights and sounds of winter holiday celebrations as the annual Longmont Lights celebration takes over downtown Longmont’s Roosevelt Park Friday, Dec. 7 followed by the annual Longmont Lights Parade on Saturday, Dec. 8.
Join the City of Longmont for a winter wonderland of festivities that takes place from 5-8 p.m. on Friday night. Enjoy hot cocoa, fire pits, food trucks, a balloon glow, live reindeer, ice skating and twinkling lights as you wander around Roosevelt Park.
Santa will be on hand from 5-7:30 p.m. – get there early, he’s a busy guy! Parents and kids can visit Santa’s Workshop and work on a holiday craft to take home (appropriate for children 10 and under; one free craft per family). Both Santa and his Workshop will be located inside the St. Vrain Memorial Building on the southeast side of the park. To top off the evening, a grand Fireworks Display will begin at 7:45 p.m. (weather permitting).
On Saturday, the Ice Pavilion will host open skating all day from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. New this year, visit the Longmont Downtown Development Authority‘s Winter Wonderland from 3-5pm before the parade. Stop by St. Stephen’s Plaza in Downtown Longmont (500 Main Street) for interactive activities, music, family fun and more! The Longmont Lights Parade will begin at 5 p.m. This year’s theme is “Jingle Bell Rock” as floats with twinkling with lights march down Main Street along with area high school marching bands, marching toy soldiers, ice castles, costumed characters, and more!
