Haunted by images of Devil’s Tower, Roy paints, draws, sculpts and ultimately makes a pilgrimage to America’s first National Monument. Set against towering images of California’s Central Coast, There Will be Blood tells the story of a silver miner-turned-oilman on a ruthless quest for wealth during the oil boom of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The film drills down into the dark heart of capitalism, where domination, not gain, is the ultimate goal.
