Alt Art Ed is now offering homeschool classes for teens! Focusing on creativity and individual expression, we will learn different art-making processes, art history, materials and tools, and art from around the world. Bring your own sketchbook and then all other supplies are provided – paper, drawing materials, scissors, canvases, paints, pastels, and more! This class is held in downtown Longmont and taught by local artist and educator, Tyrell Coover. Resume and references available. Students will receive guidance for their own artwork and inspiration for new ideas, as well.

Drinking from handmade ceramic works by local artists, we’ll taste teas and eat sweets. Featuring work from our 2018 exhibiting artist Alex Zablocki along with preview work from artists in our May exhibit: Suspended Devotions. Guest curated by Kecia Benvenuto of Vibrant Femmes. 

Fare generously provided by La Momo Maes bakery, proceeds to benefit the exhibitions program at Firehouse Art Center. Costumes encouraged. Come as your favorite character, bring your victorian garble.

Join us as we launch our year of celebration and special programming to commemorate our 50th anniversary at our annual spring show and sale. More than 40 members of the Boulder Potters’ Guild will be exhibiting and selling their recent work at this year’s Spring Show and Sale. The show will include functional, decorative, and sculptural ceramic work as well as jewelry, fused glass objects, silk scarves, and embossed note cards. There will be daily drawings, and the opportunity to view and purchase objects hand made by local potters and artists. This sale is a great opportunity for the public to see and touch beautiful ceramics and to speak with the artists and potters. 25% of sales go to help raise money to support the facilities, outreach, and educational activities of the Boulder Potters’ Guild, a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
