The Wu Style Short Form

with Senior Instructor Craig Barnes

This event is a one-week intensive, with a 3 week Summer Package available. Online registration coming soon, but in-person attendance is always recommended.

Tai Chi is an ancient and powerful exercise system. Its beautiful flowing movements are designed according to the principles of Chinese medicine to circulate blood and chi life force. Regular practice will transform your life by increasing health and vitality, smoothing out emotions and calming the mind. This Wu Style short form is a condensed and easy to learn. It contains the essential inner workings extracted from the traditional long form of Tai Chi.

In just one week you can learn a gentle yet powerful healing form that you can practice and will benefit you for the rest of your life. Craig will teach the sophisticated and often secret internal methods that give Tai Chi its power making this course beneficial not only as an introduction to beginners but also for practitioners who want to improve their understanding and skill.

Master Frantzis was taught, empowered, and encouraged by his teacher, Liu Hung Chieh, to create short forms that would be more easily absorbed and practiced by Western Tai Chi students. He passed it on to Senior Instructor Craig Barnes who has been practicing, teaching, and refining the form for decades.

Senior Instructor Craig Barnes will take us through the full Wu Style Short Form in a 6 day retreat, covering the choreography and internal methods of traditional Tai Chi  as much as can be accomplished in this short timeframe.

Lessons will be communicated in the traditional way, by teaching what is determined to be of greatest value to the students in the room. Craig will tailor his teachings to the students who attend in-person, so in-person attendance is always recommended.  To make the most of any of this summer’s events and achieve the best personal growth, it is recommended to attend all 3 weeks in-person.
