Valentine’s Day has become known as a Hallmark Holiday, but did you know the first Valentine cards were made by a woman named Esther Howland in the 1870s? And before that, men would pen their affections in small publications to send to their loves. Let’s take this holiday back from the consumerist tradition of buying pre-made cards and move toward a Maker’s world where we create Valentines of our own to give to our loved ones.
Join us on Saturday, February 9th to craft our own Valentines with plenty of decorative paper, colorful and metallic inks, plenty of loving embellishments, and envelopes to seal.
This workshop welcomes all ages! We will have age-appropriate materials for everyone, from tiny scissors to hot glue, from washable markers to elegant papers.
Saturday, February 9th, 10am-12 noon
CoSolve Building, 350 Terry St, Second Floor
Cost: $15/person, $6 for each additional person in your group
