Friday Afternoon Concerts: Selasee @ Longmont Museum

Arts Longmont continues its 28th season of Friday Afternoon Concerts and Art Shows on Friday, March 15, 2019 World Music/Reggae artist Selasee. Counting Bob Marley and Nat King Cole as inspirations, his music approaches complex and often profound subjects with grace, simplicity and catchy melodies. Born in Accra, Ghana, Selasee grew up exposed to the colorful and energetic sounds of Highlife Music. With this exposure Selasee created his own style—a unique blend of Reggae, West African Highlife and American Pop music that threads together English and West African lyrics for a bright and captivating sound.

The artist demonstration features photographer Jackson Carson. Carson describes his style of photography as one where he “finds beauty in ordinary things … Unexpected works of art surround us, be they left by man or nature, to be discovered and shared.”

The series is co-presented with the Longmont Museum. Performances are held at the Longmont Museum’s Stewart Auditorium, 400 Quail Road, Longmont, Colorado.

Artist demonstrations begin at 1:30 PM. Doors open at 2 PM and concerts begin at 2:30 PM.

Tickets are available by phone at 303-651-8374, on the Longmont Museum’s website (www.longmontcolorado.gov/museum) or at the door. Individual tickets are $10.
