Arts Longmont continues its 28th season of Friday Afternoon Concerts and Art Shows on Friday, February 15, 2019 with a cello and piano recital. Katarina Pliego, cello, and Karin Buer, piano, will perform sonatas by two German giants—Ludwig van Beethoven’s Sonata in E-flat Major, Op. 81a and Johannes Brahms’s Sonata for Cello and Piano no. 1 in e minor, op. 38. The intricate Cello Suite no. 1 op. 72 by a British composer Benjamin Britten is included in the program along with Bosanquet’s Elegy for cello and piano.
The artist demonstration features J. Diane Martonis—a studio artist whose intricate cut paper imagery and installations highlight her memories through fragmented ideas and experiences.
The series is co-presented with the Longmont Museum. Performances are held at the Longmont Museum’s Stewart Auditorium, 400 Quail Road, Longmont, Colorado.
Artist demonstrations begin at 1:30 PM. Doors open at 2 PM and concerts begin at 2:30 PM.
Tickets are available by phone at 303-651-8374, on the Longmont Museum’s website (www.longmontcolorado.gov/museum) or at the door. Individual tickets are $10
