Friday Afternoon Concerts + Art Show series: Ginga Brazilian Band with artist Lydia Pottoff @ Longmont Museum, Stewart Auditorium | Longmont | Colorado | United States

A co-presentation by Arts Longmont and the Longmont Museum, the series features a concert in the Stewart Auditorium and art by a local Longmont artist.

Ginga Brazilian Band has been dazzling audiences with the captivating rhythms and energy of traditional Brazilian music for over a decade. Comprised of some of the best jazz, classical and salsa musicians on the Front Range, the seven member band can bring an audience to a quiet purr with sultry Bossa Nova or magnetize with the pulse of a samba groove.

Lydia Pottoff

Pastels are Lydia Pottoff’s medium of choice. They allow her to create shimmering, heightened color effects as well as draw; and they support the freedom of spontaneity in her work. She balances pieces between studio and plein-air: working in nature forces one to capture the essence quickly, while a studio environment allows a deeper exploration.

Dates + times: March 16, 2018. Art show at 1:30 PM. Doors open at 2 PM with concert starting at 2:30 PM. Tickets are $10/ show and available online at longmontcolorado.gov/museum or by calling: 303-651-8374. Tickets are also available at the door.
