Downtown Cidery Opens Adding New Twist to Longmont’s Craft Beverage Scene

St. Vrain Cidery, Boulder County’s first all-cider tap house, is newly opened and ready to serve you. Located in the old Longmont Daily Times-Call building at the corner of 4th Avenue & Terry Street in downtown Longmont, the cidery is a destination for Colorado hard cider.

Two years in the making, St. Vrain Cidery offers 24 taps from companies including Stem Ciders, Colorado Cider Company, Big B’s Hard Cider, Summit Hard Cider, Wild Cider, New Avalon, Snow Capped Cider, Climb Hard Cider, C Squared Cider and Infinite Monkey Theorem. Off-tap selections include Talbott’s Cider Company, Snow Capped Cider, Climb Hard Cider, as well as, some non-alcohol beverage options.

The Colorado craft beverage industry is on fire, and ciders are among the fastest growing segments in the trade. St. Vrain Cidery will expand their operation to 36 taps by Spring 2017 in order to accommodate this significant growth, and they will also begin manufacturing their own ciders on-site at the taproom. The first batch, a Dry Apple, is expected to be kegged this December.

When describing the style of St. Vrain Cidery’s own cider, Dan Daugherty, St. Vrain’s cidermaker, says, “While we’ll eventually build up a broad range of styles, our main focus is on drier, new world, and experimental ciders made from Colorado apples which, at the moment, are mostly dessert fruit with a smattering of heritage varieties.”

Conveniently located in downtown Longmont, the Cidery is just blocks away from local eateries like Rozalee’s Pizzeria, Samples World Bistro, Benny’s Tacos, The Roost, and Simply Bulk, a bulk foods shop where you can stock up on snacks and treats. Folks are able to bring in or have food of their choice delivered, light snacks are available for purchase in the taproom, and food trucks will be on hand – check out the food truck schedule on their events calendar.

St. Vrain Cidery Tap House, 350 Terry St., Suite 130, will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 2-9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. For more information, visit www.stvraincidery.com and be sure to like them on Facebook.
