Boulder Opera Coming to Longmont’s Stewart Auditorium
The Boulder Opera Company will perform Mozart’s clever opera buffa (comedic opera), Cosi Fan Tutte or “Women Are Like That”, on Friday, March 23 at the Longmont Museum’s Stewart Auditorium, 400 Quail Rd. The performance will take place from 7:30-10 p.m. and tickets range from $25-$35/person.
Cosi Fan Tutte follows the lives of two sets of lovers whose fidelity is put to the test in a comedy of errors. Lines are hilariously blurred as deceit and desire cause characters to lose sight of what is reality and make believe. Come see one of Mozart’s most adored musical works that satirizes undependable women while showing men are hardly perfect themselves.
Ekaterina Kotcherguina and Dianela Acosta play the sisters, Szilvia Schranz is Despina, Michael Hoffman sings Ferrando, Joshua Devane is Guglielmo and Joshua South plays the scheming Don Alfonso.
The opera will be sung in Italian with English subtitles, and an ensemble orchestra, led by Maestra Sara Parkinson, will be featured. The performance will be directed by Ron Ben-Joseph.
