Down on the Farm

Spend a day or two experiencing the rich agricultural heritage of the Longmont area that is beautifully preserved in these sites.

Come enjoy displays about wildlife, the Coffin family history, and life in the late 1880s. While you are here, be sure to visit the newly restored Coffin family barn. The barn was built in the early 1900s and served as a cow and horse barn. Displays include antiques and photos from the early part of the century, as well a model of a cow so that you can try your hand at milking.

Public hours for August and September are Tuesdays 9 AM to noon and 2nd & 4th Saturdays 10 AM to 2 PM

Hover Farmstead[picture]

The Hover Farmstead portrays typical farming operations found in the Saint Vrain Valley during the late 1940's and early 1950's. Come out and tour the farmhouse, woodshed, creamery, chicken house, the Hover Barn, the corral, and the farm mill. Each building features unique exhibits, exhibits in progress, and a piece of the Hover Farmstead story.

The Hover Farmstead is open free to the public from 8 AM to sunset

Old Mill Park

Old Mill Park is a haven of historical buildings from the 1860's through the 1890's. Highlights include two cabins, a milk house, a mill pond dating back to 1873, the Hubbard House built in 1873, and the Townley House built in 1871.  

Old Mill Park is open free to the public from 8 AM to sunset

The Agricultural Heritage Center at the Lohr/ McIntosh FarmLohr/McIntosh barn and mower.

The Lohr/ McIntosh Farm gives special focus to the years between 1900 and 1925. Historical structures on the site include a windmill, loafing shed, silo, garage, granaries, the Lohr Farmhouse, and two barns; the McIntosh Barn from 1881 and the Stroh/ Dickens barn circa 1900.

The Agricultural Heritage Center is open mid-May to mid-October from 10 AM to 5 PM, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. From mid-October to mid-May the site will be open the first Saturday of every month from 10 AM to 5 PM.
